This is one of the Ladybird "An Adventure From History" series of books and was written by L. Du Garde Peach with illustrations by John Kenney.
 
It is a very informative read with, as usual, great illustrations on the accompanying pages which help bring the story to life.
 
The overall condition is very, very good, no doubt as a result of being protected by its colourful dust cover. All the indications are that this is an original 1961 edition with an original price of 2'6.
